Science & Superheroes contest

Discovery Place logo

Do you live in the Charlotte area? Do you have a child with a vivid imagination?
Discovery Place and Spandex City Comics have teamed up for a fun, educational contest for kids in grades K-8 where the object is to create a superhero whose powers are derived from science, technology, engineering, or math. These are some examples your kids might be familiar with:
* Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit is completely technology-based.
* The Flash is able to exploit the principles of sub-atomic physics to vibrate through “solid” objects.
* Spider-Man uses biology to show us how a spider’s physiology translates into a human being.
Read all about the contest and find the entry form and rules.
There is no cost to enter and the winners will receive prizes like a Discovery Place membership and a Spandex City Comics gift certificate. In addition, the first 100 contest entrants will receive an “Atomic Robo” comic book from Spandex City comics. (Thanks Charlotte On The Cheap)
