Local: FREE South End Ice Cream Churn-off (compete and taste for free) 8/4/12

Ice cream, ice cream. We all scream for ice cream. Do you have an ice cream recipe that’s competition-ready or do you just like to eat ice cream like me? Either way, go to the South End Churn-off on Saturday, August 4th. It is FREE to enter (but make sure to read all the rules and deadlines, etc.) and prizes of up to $150 will be awarded.  Read the rules.

It is also FREE to be a a taster. Judging will begin at 12pm, following that, the public will be invited to be tasters and to judge the ice cream. There will be a special “kids’ choice” award so make sure to bring your young ice cream tasters with you. The competition takes place at Atherton Market, 2104 South Boulevard.
